I recently got a new computer with an ati radeon 9100 in it. the only time i ever experience problems is when im playing a game and it overheats so the little overheating alert comes up and i close down my game. but recently, my computer would freeze (graphics would freeze) for like 5 seconds then the screen flickered and everything came back fine except a message telling me to send an error report to ati...ive done that and i havent gotten a reply from ati and i want to know how to fix it. thanks, -anthony

Is your case internal temperature too high? If so, you might need to add another case fan.

Yes, similar thing happened to me yet my PC is lovely and cool It only seems to happen on catalyst 3.8, the old catalyst 3.7 were perfect It only happens when I play the Apha Demo of Doom 3, it runs lovely for few secs them all hell breaks loose screen and game freeze, screen goes black and monitor say refresh rate out of range then ATI recovery box pops up and all returns to normal ATI need to dramatically improve their driver in Catalyst 3.9 all my other games work ok though, can run them for days without a tiny problem My CPU is a Athlon XP 2400 at 40c idle 46c at full load Case temp idle is 28c, at load it's 31c Graphics card is a Radeon 9600 Pro 128mb

and I have 1.5gb ( 1,536mb ) DDR PC2100
