Comment: Can any one help? I have an Athlon XP 1800Mhz CPU, which shows on bootup as 1150Mhz. I have checked the Bios setting FSB and they are correct for this CPU. My memory is 256 DDR 2100, and motherboard is PCCHIPS 841LMR, which is supposed to take upto Athlon 2000+. My friend has the same spec Pc, but with Athlon 1600Mhz CPU, and his also shows up as 1150Mhz. This seems to be a common problem.

Reply: (edit)The problem is that your FSB is set @ 100 MHz instead of the correct setting of 133 MHz. Go into BIOS, change FSB setting and reboot. This should fix your problem and boost your system speed considerably. Good luck!

Reply: (edit)Check the manual for you motherboard, as it is likely you will need to change the jumper setting on the board from the default 100 mhz to 133mhz. My Athlon XP 1800 was also running at that speed, until I changed the jumper. It may not simply be a case of altering BIOS settings.

Reply: (edit)Depends on the board. Most high quality boards allow adjustment via the BIOS.
