Ok, I have just finished putting together my PC that I spent the GNP of a small country on to build. The spec is:

Athlon 64 X2 +4800
MSI K8N Diamond Motherboard
2 x XFX Factory Overclocked 7800GTX Graphics Cards
2gb Ram

The problem I am having is the fact that my motherboard doesnt recognise my processor. It clearly shows it as an AMD processor but of an unknown model. I have the gut feeling i need to update my bios. Does anyone agree or have any other advise.
Also, my 300gb hard drive shows as 137gb in windows, but i think all i need to do is upgrade to SP2 to resolve this.

Please help!!!

What BIOS version do you have?

It looks like BIOS version 1.3 3/30/2005 added support for dual core. They are up to version 1.6 7/22/2005 now.

Windows XP requires SP1 or SP2 for support of drives larger than 137GB.

If your not sure about flashing to the new bios this is a very good way to do it...........http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php?topic=69.0

I've used this way many times with zero failures.
