Ok, so I recently installed xp pro x64 on my acer laptop. However, after I installed it, I found out that acer does not support 64-bit operating systems for any of its computers :( Anyway, I have found all the necessary drivers that I need for my laptop except my wi-fi. It is called Atheros 5005G, and it supports 802.11b/g. If anyone knows any information on getting this driver, it would be greatly appreciated.
Actually, sorry to bother everyone again, but now I am actually having a problem with my external 19" ws monitor. If the monitor is hooked up before I start my computer, the screen that it portrays is on my external monitor. However, when xp pro 64-bit launches, it reverts back to the regular laptop screen. When I go to the display properties of my computer, there is a monitor (2) on the tab, but when I identify the monitors, it doesnt show up. I cannot change the view to my external monitor either, so I think that I am stuck at this point. Any further help would be much appreciated.
o woops, by the way, there are 2 devices on my device manager that have yellow exclamation points on them, and they are: mass storage device////modem device on high definition audio bus I think that these are the final 2 devices that I need to search for 64-bit drivers for
OK, so I have tried changing around the configurations of the display screen, and I have gotten it so that the external monitor DOES work on the box: Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor. However, when I drag a movie over onto the other monitor, the program freezes and the computer laggs a lot. There are still those 2 devices that do not have the drivers installed, and I think that this could be the problem. If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know.
