Hi, my system has been running fine and i shut it down before going away for a week. When i returned and tried to start up my pc i recieced the message - verifying dmi pool data............Boot from ATAPI cd rom: Bootable cd does not exist........ Non system disk or disk error. Please help Cheers

You need to go into your bios and change it to just boot from the hard drive. When your system restarts it will boot only from the hard drive and ignore the other devices. If you have a disk in your floppy drive as well, remove it while rebooting cos this can generate this type of error as well. Hope this helps.

Your motherboard battery is dead get a new one. Or it will happen again. When the cmos loses its settings again.

a dead battery will NOT cause that error. busbydaniel is right, that message is almost always caused by either a floppy or a CD that the computer is attempting to boot from, -however there is no need to change any bios settings, as soon as you power the computer on, just press the eject button, as long as there is power to the drive, it will eject (and if for some reason, it wont let you eject, just stick a paperclip into the small hole on the front of the drive) Don't put a question here.
