Hi,

Could someone please tell me if it is wise to buy a ATA 133 Hard disk to fit on a board that has a chipset that supports UDMA (Pentium 3, Aopen MX6bez Chipset)?

Just thinking, while I buy an expensive hd, if possible, may be better to buy a later technology hd, then I can use it in a new system if I build a new one etc?...

Thanks folks!

Matt

Sounds like a good idea. I was buying ATA-100 drives for my old ATA-66 system board.

Technically, ATA (ATAPI) is the name for overriding standard for drives, of which UDMA is but one of the elements. But, as Stuart points out, the terms tend to get used interchangeably in ads and manufactures' blurbs.
