I just built my PC and after 1 day, it blue screened on me during a game. Then boot up loops, so tried reinstalling windows but it blue screened again. So i suspected Memory failure. Run memtest86. I have 2x 1gb twinmos PC2 6400 DDR2 sticks of memory, with heatspreaders. Came back errors straight away. So i tested each one on its on. One is ok. But i noticed they were extremely hot, and so was the Video Card.

I reinstall Windows with just 1gb memory installed. Installed Asus PC Probe to check temperature status. And got a warning sign straight away m/b is in the red, at 55c. CPU temp was fine.

This is a list of my specs on my PC

Core 2 Duo 2.33ghz 1333fsb CPU
Asus P5K-VM montherboard
2x Twinmos 1gb PC2 6400 DDR2 memory with heatspreaders
EVGA Gefore 8800GT 512mb
Thermaltake 430w PSU
WD 320gb Sata Hard Drive
Pioneer Sata DVD Burner
Coolmaster Elite R31 Case

I wondering is the PSU not powerful enuff?
Or is my board stuffed.

Any Ideas ?

Are you sure that the 55C isn't the CPU and what you think is the CPU isn't the motherboard?

CPU was 49, motherboard is 55

5mins after turning the PC on after an hour cooling down. watching hardware monitor in the bios, m/b temp is 1 degree off the CPU, then CPU stops at 49, m/b keeps rising to 53. that is 5mins waiting in bios hard monitor.
