Asus motherboard and booting from a USB pen

October 17, 2011 at 13:02:48
Specs: Windows 7
(Apologies but I couldn't post on the older topics and non of them helped me, I hope my solution below helps someone save the time I took me!)
The ESC did not work for me on an ASUS mobo; F8 is that.
I tried my Boot USB pen drive on a dell laptop
and it worked. I then(after some head scratching!) set BIOS to allow legacy USB(in truth i may have switched that off myself) and it worked first time.

Legacy is for mouse and keyboard. It will not affect this.

Turn power off, install usb and then boot to bios. Does flash show up under the hard drives? If so move it up in boot order.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
