Asus K8V-X SE Sound Issues

Hi there Ive just built a computer for my brother using a Asus K8V-X SE motherboard which has on-board sound. I decide to use the onboard sound as my brother isnt really fussy about the sound quality. I installed the drivers and everything worked fine. Then all of a sudden im told that there is no sound at all. Just wanted any suggetions i should try when i go and sort it out. Obviously re-installing the drivers would be a good start, was just wondering if there was anything else i could try. Thanks

Before you re-install drivers, check the settings on the sound setings in WINXP. Maybe mute has been applied to an input or the output.
