Solved asus eee pc problems... keyboard does not type

May 22, 2013 at 02:58:54
Specs: Windows XP
I cannot type letters a to z and numbers 0 to 9 on my ee pc 901.
I called the asus helpline and they suggested it was a hardware fault but i wonder if it is possible to restore the keyboard by typing certain keys such as alt and F9.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is no key combination that will make a keyboard that is not working suddenly start working again. You cannot restore broken hardware like you can broken with software.

With all the letter and all the number keys not working, it looks like you are going to need a new keyboard. That can be an expensive proposition on a laptop if you have no technical expertise to do it yourself.

Try an external keyboard to see if it will work. May help troubleshoot the issue.
