asus a7v266-m does not boot

Specs: None, AMD Duron/512 Mb
I have a ASUS A7V-266M and a Duron 1.4 proc, the problem is my board doesn't turn on long enough to display the POST.It turns on the fan but after 2 seconds it shuts down. The power supply is not the problem because the power supply I tested is the one that powers my ECS P4VMM2 PC at present. The ASUS board doesn't have any components installed (no drives) except the video card and RAM. I don't have any more cpus except a Sempron 1.8 ( also socket 462 proc).

If you're sure it's not the power supply, you probably have the heatsink installed incorrectly - either it's backwards, or you used too much thermal paste, or no paste at all. See the following pic:

Thanks I'll look into it.But could it be the thermal monitoring IC or voltage regulator in the board?Actually it used to work before even without the thermal paste.
