Comment: I was wondering if you guys can help out my friend that just bought a (Asus socket A A7V266-E/AA) motherboard?I tried helping him out also, but im also confused. He is searching for a amd cpu that is compatible with this mobo, but it seems that he is having a hard time finding a dealer online,or in his local area.HE had mentioned that he did research on what cpu` is compatible with the mobo, and he narrowed his search and price limit to a Athlon xp 1800- 2200.When he chekced the asus site the motherboard support of cpu stated that theses are the following compatible cpu`s... Athlon XP 1800+(Model 6)(Palomino) Athlon XP 1800+(Model 8)(Thoroughbred) Athlon XP 1900+(Model 8)(Thoroughbred) Athlon XP 1900+(Model 6)(Palomino) Athlon XP 2000+(Model 6)(Palomino) Athlon XP 2000+(Model 10)(Thorton) Athlon XP 2000+(Model 8)(Thoroughbred) Athlon XP 2100+(Model 8)(Thoroughbred) Athlon XP 2100+(Model 6)(Palomino) Athlon XP 2200+(Model 10)(Thorton)..... But when he goes to, as I did also to amd website it seems that it is a little diffrent in compatible cpu`s then in the asus website. Can anyone recommend an online harware shop that is good priced and that has a cpu` that is compatible with his mobo? The dealer has to be a canadian reatailer,or an american retailer that ships to canada. Thanks for your help.peace

Reply: (edit)Go with the Asus recommendations...make sure he has the latest BIOS version. Check Pricewatch.com for CPU pricing....
