Hello, I have just purchased an Asus A7N8X-VM mobo and have installed it into my computer. I have turned on the power. It goes through the POST just fine but then it restarts itself and repeats the process.

Since you replaced your board you will either have to do a clean install of XP or a repair install. A while back I changed my kids board and had to redo XP.

You need to have it boot to XP cd to repair. Do you have an XP cd? You need to change boot order to boot to cd 1st or second boot drive.

I agree with Rich. I have had very poor luck replacing motherboards in XP systems. It normally needs a 'repair install' and sometimes even that doesn't help.
