Ok I have new sata drives installed and ready to set up a raid 0 on my new system. Thanks to the flimsy ass motherboard manual I dont have needed information. Near the end of the book it tells you about raid and setting it up to a point then it says proceed to 5.9.2 for the next procedure. Well hell, there is no 5.9.2 in the book, it stops at 5.7. Tried the asus website and no information there either. I must say out of all the computers I have built this has to be the dinkiest motherboard manual I have had. Very thin! No information in it. I have the drives installed and during post it shows the drives there, ( sata drives ). It says hit f4 to enter raid utility but it will not let me enter. I have first boot device set to scci. I need the rest of the information that the book lopped off. Any help here as to what to do now would be appreciative. Thanks.

It looks to me like that reference to 5.9.2 is a typo and should be 5.5.2. Unfortunately, that section concerns entering the Raid configuration utility, which you say you can not do. Have you tried <Ctrl+S> instead of F4? There should be a Raid user's manual on your drivers disc in the Drivers/SATA folder. There might be something in there that will help.

Thanks for responding. I have overcome! I figured as well that it may have been 5.5.2 instead. Not sure. Well anyway. I went back after trying several times and low and behold it finally let me in to raid utility. I got it all up and going and man its fast with the new raptor 74 gig 10000 rpm drives! Just finished intalling xp on it in no time. As for setting up raid. Another fine thing about asus is they didnt give you a utility to make you a floppy to install the raid drivers while installing the operating system. Had to browse the cd to find the drivers. They could hav easily made a utility for making a driver floppy for raid. Thanks for responding but we are on the road now!
