Hey Guys. I'm having a problem with a new setup I just created. Its an Asus A7N8X Deluxe with Kingston DDR2700, 2200 CPU, Antec case + 300w power and a Chaintech 128 Ti 4800 SE vid card. When I turn the machine on it starts to come up for 3-4 seconds then shuts down. I have unplugged everything just to see if I could get a beep code but I can't. Would it matter that the CPU fan is NOT plugged into the CPU fan pins on the mob but a connector on the power sup. instead? Any help or suggestions (be nice)would be appreciated.

It could be that the mobo is monitoring the cpu fan speed through the 3pin connector, but since it's not there it believes there is no fan and therefore shuts down.

haha, samething happened to my Asus P4T533-C, what you do is, go into BIOS, find Hardware Monitor, select CPU Fan and change it to IGNORE.

It was the CPU fan not being connected to the CPU fan pins on the MOB that was causing the problem. As for going into the bios to chnge the settings, that was impossible because the machine shut down 4 seconds after I turned it on so I couldn't even get into the bios. Thanks for all your help!
