As far as I know, there are no clone laptops. Unlike PC clones, laptops are propritary.

What type of laptop? Usually you can find the documentation by going to there site. I found IBM, DELL, and Compaq diagrams on all different types.

Unless you can fit a tower on your lap, no chance matey.

Laptops are the big money spinner for computer companies, and they would NEVER start designing interchangeable parts. Keeps the price nice and high.

I would love to build a laptop myself.

I've built two Gateway Solo 2150s from parts off Ebay. So it can be done but makes no sense unless you want to learn how to work on laptops, which was the reason I did it. Ebay is the only possible place to get parts to do something like this. OEMs like Dell and Gateway will not sell parts to anyone other than authorized service centers (and they should be whipped and flogged for that). The prices of online laptop parts dealers are laughable.

you can find most of the parts here, but i dont think you could assemble them, the companies make them so that they dont fit or connect the parts to that of other company. But i have seen assembled laptops at really cheap prices without warranty.Only buy the parts or try to assemble if you really know how to tweak stuff or you would waste youre money
