i just bought a new computer with gigabyte motherboard - 8ipe1000.
i installed a program from their cd called @BIOS. it updates the bios from windows.
i got the lastest bios version from gigabyte site and did the update. after restart, i get: "scanning bios image in hard drive. can not find bios image in hard drive or diskette". please help!

Uh oh....
Go to the Website and see if thay offer a manual method of BIOS flashing.
If not I would call support and YELL REAL LOUD that their fine Internet based BIOS upgrade hosed your new board.

Upgrading a Bios is dangerous. I would `always' do it from DOS.

Just called Gigabyte Helpdesk. They say, we need the bios-chip reprogrammed, it costs 34 EUR. Nothing to do about, Iīm afraid. Iīve tried to copy some BIOS Images to a new Harddrive, it seeks for it, but it doesnīt load at all. Bad luck. And they say NOT to use the @bios tool. Isnīt this a good advice, to give us users the opportunity to flash under windows, and if somethings goes wrong, they say: hey, donīt use this tool.
