I have a Compaq Armada 4220T with the docking station and I broke the dang CDROM so I took it out and now need to know what type of connector it possibly uses to know if I can change it out. The cdrom that I took out is a Sanyo CRD-S68P. I'm trying to figure out if its a standard notebook cdrom or a "Compaq Special". I've reasearched and been giving the tech support run around. Hopefully someone can help me with this issue.

HAHA thanks for the google link but I've already suffered enough from researching off of Google and the such... why I came to the forums

I have a 7710MT with docking station, here is what I did, DON’T do it yet though please read and respond as the systems are not exactly the same.....I took an ordinary 40 pin cable and plugged it in at the header (where the OEM cable was plugged in ) was then able to go with off the shelf hardware, was left with a 40gig HD and a CDR in the docking station, if you like post back the Docking Station model number and let me go through some docs I have here, might get lucky and be able to better advise you then.
Please please move slowly here as what may have worked for me might end up in the dumpster for you…I am willing to help but at the same time I am in fear something could go wrong…..perhaps we can work this through e-mail if you like….
