I love my current monitor, HP Elite L2201x. It's strictly a DisplayPort only monitor, and I was wondering if there are any other monitors out there like this?

A quick Google search didn't turn up any monitors with ONLY display port in. Most that have display port also have 2 or 3 other types of input ports.

I would say that was done to reduce cost. Definitely not an advantage as you seem to think.

Yeah, that's why I love the monitor so much :) It has the only video input that I use and the price is awesome along with the size of the monitor. It's so sleek and thin that it's super easy to take anywhere.

I just personally think that DP is superior to HDMI, and all my video cards have DP so I might as well save some money and look for DP only monitors.

You're not going to save anything by looking for "DP only monitors", all you're going to do is limit your choices. If you love the monitor you have so much, why not buy another just like it?

I'm most likely going to buy another one like it, but I was just wondering what my options were. A DP monitor would cost less than one with HDMI because of all the royalty fees. The monitor I have is a perfect example when you compare it to others with HDMI and DVI.

"A DP monitor would cost less than one with HDMI because of all the royalty fees"

You really think the royalty fee affects the price? I'm sure it's less that $1 per unit.

How many DP ports does your video card have?

I imagine it would be $1 if the manufacture sells a lot of them to make up for the $10K annual fee, but imagine they aren't certain of their sales? I'm sure this manipulates the price of the monitor, but the reasons for me liking DP goes beyond the whole royalty and cost details. It actually boils down to the technical specifications of how DP works, and packetized data transmission is just one of the big reasons why I love it.

My video card has two DP interfaces.
