after installing ie 8 idownloaded and tried to install windows media player 11..all my windows updates were up to date..

when trying to open the exe i get a message
the application has failed to initialize properly error (0xc0000008)

i can not uninstall it either comes up with the same error..everything else seems to be working ok!!!

i have searched on the net for help but to no avail..my computer usually runs as smooth as a babies bottom...

need help please

thanks i did this but then i couldnt even open iexplorer.. had to undo the restore..any other ideas??

thanks i have solved this problem now..spyware terminator was blocking some essential files...should of checked there first..
