Hi. What's the highest CPU speed a Aopen AX4BS motherboard can habdle? I have a 3 Ghz CPU. I know it can handle up to 2.4 Ghz, can it handle higher with a BIOS upgrade?

Thanks.

Too much trouble to look it up? Your board accepts S478 400MHz FSB CPUs only...max speed of 2.6GHz (26 x 100MHz) P4 or 2.8GHz (28 x 100Mhz) Celeron.

If you install the 3.0GHz P4, it will run at 1.5GHz, if it works at all.

Obviously this Board accept p4 cpu only up to 1.7 Ghz ! As ax4bs-owner (motherboard is fully functional, newest Bios!) this is my experience. I have tried with 2,0 Ghz/400 FSB (new!) and with two different 1,8 GHZ/400 FSB cpus - but the PC didn't started. But with cpus lower than 1,7 Ghz (for example with 1,5Ghz/400 FSB) the system works fine. So the ax4bs-details on the Aopen-Website seems to me a little bit myterious ... uncoverable error or mistake by me?
