Does the iPod Nano charge from USB when the PC is OFF?

Let me ask you this.
You have a brand spanking new PC that is still in the box, so you hook up your iPod to one of it's USB ports while still unwrapped - you think it'll charge the iPod or not?

Although there is power to the motherboard when the PC is powered down, I don't believe the 5 volts is present at the USB ports.

Sabertooth If you are trying to imply that I'm stupid, well, look in the mirror.
Hi ham30
Thank you for your reply This is exactly what I thought, but I have bought an MP3 player from EBay that indicates it's charging even when the PC is off. Since iPod Nano also charges from USB, I thought Nano users should know.

Not only does it talk - but it tries to bite too (sorry you feel PWNED).......hahaha
I indeed had doubts before, but your rebuttal totally obliterated whatever sentiments I might have had about your cognitive ability.
If you had a preconceived notion regarding your thread, all you had to do was post your observation so responders can catch your drift rather than mask it in a closed-ended inquiry.

I'll give it to you; the big mouth is definitely yours. About what you think of my abilities, I don't give a toss. Comparing your reply with ham30's is enough for anyone to make a fair judgement. You are in no position to tell anybody how to ask a question. If you don't like it don't reply to it.
P.S. Do us both a favour & from now on don't reply to my posts.
