Any way to Make USB 2.0 Dell printer work with USB 3.0?

August 19, 2015 at 16:22:38
Specs: Windows 64
my Dell printer will not work. The message I get is below:

your USB 2.0 composite device is not compatible with USB 3.0. the message continues to say plug a 2.0 in which may fix it.

I have NO idea what it is asking me to do.

Has the printer ever worked with that PC? Did you try plugging the USB cable into a different USB port?

USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0, just not USB 1.1
Did you first install the driver disk before plugging it into the computer? This is usually the process with today's printers.
Most computers and even laptops today include both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports where the blue ones are usually the USB 3.0 ports. Also note that USB 2.0 ports show the USB High Speed symbol and the USB 3.0 ports show the USB Super Speed (USB-SS) symbol (google image easily).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
