I have a Antec Sonata II Ultra Quiet Case with the standard fitted Smart Power 450 power supply.
Whilst running Asus PC Probe (basically this tells you temperatures, voltage, fan speeds etc) it gave a warning that the fan rpm on the power supply was Zero. It 'might' have been like this for months as I have not used PC Probe for a very long time. The motherboard and CPU are still running quite cool (room temperature 17C; CPU 28C Motherboard 30C).
My question is ................is this fan on the power supply thermastatically controlled (think that is the correct saying); ie it will come on if it gets hot, or should it be running all the time? Is it possible a cable/wire has come lose that needs reconnecting to get this to work.Any help would be greatly appreciated (especially as I only have 3 days left before the one year warranty runs out).
Many Thanks In Advance

Ignore my last meeasge; I now have an answer.
'Unique Dual Fans Technology: exhaust fan starts to spin when the power supply reaches certain temperatures to ensure proper airflow, the second fan spins on power up '

Be carefull what you are reading. The URL you provided states that the fan starts to spin if the 450W Power supply gets hot - NOT THE CPU! I have an Antec P182 case and the 3 build-in fans do not have a control cable to connect to the mobo voltage regulator connectors. I try to get some help and so I can't tell you any more at the moment.

Thanks for response. Yes I know it is the Power Supply that when it (PSU) gets hot the fan at the rear will come on.
It should not affect the running of the CPU
