Hi,

Which PSU is better? Antec true power 480watt with pfc OR Tagan TG480-U01 480W? I need it for XFX 8600GT Fatal1ty, 2 harddisk, 1 DVDRW, 2 stick of PC6400 rams, E2140 + Biostar m/b.

They both have a lot of amperage on the +5v rail (38A for the Antec, 48A for the Tagan) & that's always suspicious. The +5v is under-used in today's systems so there's really no need to have more than 20-25A. But by having a higher amperage on the +5v, it falsely inflates the overall PSU rating. In this case, by between 75-100W, so in effect, these PSUs are closer to being 380-400W units than 480W units.

i have the antec one. i cant say how good it is performace wise as i have used a cpu and motherboard that isnt power hungryand i only have 1 fan in my case

but one thing i have noticed is that it dosent generate alot of heat and the fan is quiet. copaired to my thermal take one which sounded like a jet engine and gave out as much heat as a three bar electric fire. could warm my room from 16c to 23c in just under 3 hours. id hate to think how much electric it wasted.

all text needs typos. There there for the reader to find,to distract them from the total lack of content.
google it! wasnt the answer to the question i asked so dont be dense and give me that reply
