Is 2 Gig RAM compatible with AMD Athlon XP 1.2 GHz and with NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 video card?

It depends on the motherboard. A few of the older HP/Compaq and E-Machines Socket A boards could only take 1GB (2 x 512MB), while many high-end Socket A boards could handle 4GB (4 x 1024MB).
I could be wrong, but I don't think that any of the Athlon XP CPUs ran below 1.4GHz. You might want to check your CPU settings first.

As jackbomb stated, there are no Athlon XPs that run at 1.2GHz , at least not any AXP desktop CPU's.
My guess is the FSB is set to 100MHz which would mean the multiplier is 12x. AFAIK, there's only one AXP with a 12x multiplier...that would be the AXP 1900+ which runs at 1600MHz (12 x 133MHz).
