Please list your complete system specs & your reason for wanting a CPU upgrade. Your system is outdated so it's not worth throwing too much money at it. Based on the factory specs, the CPU is the least of your performance problems. If no other upgrades have been made, the CPU should be low on the priority list. There are other issues that should be addressed 1st. But to answer your question, the Phenom X4 is NOT supported. The CPU support list can be found here, see page 7:

Are you running Win7 32-bit or 64-bit? Do you have at least 4GB RAM? Do you have a video card installed or are you using onboard graphics? If it's a card, is it a modern one or one of the original Radeon X1xxx series cards? Has the power supply been upgraded? What about the hard drive?

There's no point in upgrading the CPU. If anything, invest in a graphics card & more RAM. According to Crucial, your system supports up to 8GB RAM (4 x 2GB). But since you're running a 32-bit OS, 4GB is the max.

As for the graphics - even the cheapest cards available are better than the onboard X1150. Here's a Radeon HD 5450 for under $25:

The above is a decent general purpose card; great for everyday use & HD videos. If you want to get into gaming, you'll most likely have to upgrade the power supply to be able to handle the requirements of a gaming card.
