My laptop will "glitch out" and pixels will pop up on screen and flicker, or a brown and green vertical line screen, sometimes black, will appear and the laptop will start buzzing for a time. Then the blue screen may pop up, and the laptop will shut off, or it go back to the screen I was viewing but very jerky and glitchy, with icons and picture not in the right place. It is very random. I run a 750gb HD, 3.3 quadcore I7, 16gb ddr3, ATI HD 5870m. is wrong with this thing?
That sounds like your laptop GPU is overheating. Blow out the cooling vents with canned compressed air. Use the laptop on a hard flat surface. You may need to buy a laptop cooler to place under the laptop.
It was the CCC for the ATI. I took it out at loaded drivers from dell and its fine now.
Glad you found the problem. Don't know why software would do that though.
