i know my computer is ancient, but i just wanted to know how much of a performance increase would there be if i were able to upgrade from my current ati radeon 9200 se 128 mb pci card to an agp 4x card? only way i can use agp is if i get a new mobo (i have no agp slot cause I used to have a celeron in my PC) but that's pointless for socket 370. but im just wondering what the performance increase would be. would it be little or none, or possibly real great? again just curious, i dont plan on upgrading (ill just buy a new pc for that)

Anything is better than the 9200SE...even another PCI card. 128MB doesn't mean a hell of a lot when it's on a 64-bit interface
ASUS A7N8X-X
Athlon XP 1800+
8.5 x 200MHz
1024MB PC3200 2.5-3-3-7
Asus A9550GE/TD 128MB
WinME/WinXP Pro SP2

But you are correct about not bothering with any upgrade to your current rig. Being a Compaq it isn't likely you could fit a generic board into it anyway.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

AGP is faster than PCI then there is PCI express which is supposed to be as fast or faster then AGP. I haven't heard of PCI EXPRESS being measured as faster yet!

AMD 64 3200+
200 GB WD
Geforce 5500FX 256 MB
512 MB Ram Needs more.
Windows XP

ok thanks was just wondering. people say i should slap in some more memory but i think its a waste of money im gonna just buy a new pc later on... i'm currently saving for an xbox 360 right now though
