I have a few things that i was told might be the problem with my video card. one is that im not getting enough power too it and the other is that the AGP apperature is set to 64. i cant change the apperature because HP has a crappy bios. So i am hoping that a new power supply will fix it. im running only 250 watt right now and my card is a geforce 6200 256 mb agp

So what is the problem? I don't see it in your post nor do I see a question.
Here is to hoping your new power supply fixes your problem whatever it may be.

Go here and use the power supply calculator. Add 20% to requirement.

Bryco, The video card is just freezes when playing a game for about a half second then starts going again. my sound card is choppy also at times. What are some issues people see when they arent getting enough power?
agp aperature doesn't do anything. It just specifies how much of system memory the computer can allocate to the video card in case it needs more space for textures. With 256 mb of memory, you won't really need to change agp aperature.
250W is pretty low for a modern system. A 6-series geforce card takes a bit of power.
