If you dont have an AGP slot, you will need a PCI card.

That question was asked some time ago & someone posting a link to an adapter. From what I recall it was relatively expensive...propabaly cheaper to just buy the proper vid card for your slot type. Try doing a search in this forum.

Yes, rubbish.
The AGP channel is much faster than a PCI channel. There is no way any adapter could make the PCI faster and avoid a bottleneck.

you are right PCI operates at 33mhz and AGP operates at 66mhz....not a chance will it compensate for the diff unless it underclocks the AGP card to the throughput of 33mhz

3.38 V = STD 3.52 V = VRE
I am running the VRE settings, which (as far as I know) was the setting that it came with.
I was benchmarking with "test CPU" freeware program, from a cover disk.
Summary: Why would you go from AGP to PCI? You may be getting a newer card, but the slower/shared PCI bus cancels out many of the benefits. Get an AGP card. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accele... http://www.ne...
Summary: okkkkkk.....read thru some of these post but couldn't find a solution...the puter is compaq deskpro en 450, has the funky sized ati agp 4MB video card....machine has a riser....won't boot with a pci v...
