Comment: Just wondering, which type AGP or PCI is best and takes most strain off of the processor. Also has anyone used the Radeon x600 Pro or 9600xt? ta, Will I notice the difference in performance from upgrading my poor 9250 to one of these beasts? thanks very much L.Dudley

Reply: (edit)Have you used the 9600xt before? U reckon it's suitable for music applications with constant autoscrolling, dvd's and basic games etc.??? L.Dudley

Reply: (edit)Yes, the 9600xt is faster than the 9250. The 9600 pro is better than the xt. Do you actually have a problem with your current card? I run DVDs and basic games on a Geforce II with no problems. Music is usually handled by your soundcard!

Reply: (edit)Yeah but in music applications such as Cubase or Pro Tools the screen is constantly scrolling and the image is having to be updated. Whats the price difference between the xt and Pro, whats the difference in quality to a non-serious gamer? cheers L.Dudley

Reply: (edit)Where are you looking at the prices? The xt uses less pipelines than the pro. Obviously the amount af RAM on the board figures into the price.

Reply: (edit)I was looking at the 'buy it now' price on Ebay. Seems weird that a card is so much better yet so much cheaper dont u think? L.Dudley

Reply: (edit)Sometimes prices on ebay are too good to be true! See thread 31505 on this forum. It's usually best to compare prices at a retailers site. That way you aren't comparing apples to oranges. A new card with warranty will always sell for more than a used or damaged one.
