My problem is like this. I just recently bought a Hercules 3D Prophet 9600 256 MB card, its 8x/4x agp and my board is a 4x/2x. I read that 8x cards will run ok in a 4x slot (http://www.directron.com/15agpguide.html) ,no problem there. But i noticed something different with my old card and the prophet. The keying was different. Like on that one link i posted i have the one with 2 notches. From what i read on that site the prophet should be incompatible with my agp slot(because it has only 1 notch). But when i look at my agp slot WITH my OLD card in i can see there is a space between the end of the card and the lock. It doesnt reach to the white lock at the end of the slot. So, is my case an exception?
