Can you put a AGP 8X video card on a 4x slot? I have a mobo with 4x agp and i was wondering if i should upgrade my video card but my mobo has a 4x agp slot and im just taking precation.

Yes you can, just set it to 4X in the bios.

in the system bios? but does it matter if the video card is 8x and the agp slot is 4x? Cause if i change it in the bios its still going to be 4x agp slot but can i put a 8x Card in there?

You can put an 8X card in a 4X slot, but it will perform at 4X.

If you want to push it to 8X and only have a 4X slot, you'll have to upgrade your motherboard.
