Reply: (edit)it will work, but its rather pointless gettin it if the mobo doesn't support it.You might as well get a 4x card! Aopen nforce2 ak70d-400vn m/b Athlon 2000+ xp@2.2ghz 512mb ddr400 GforceFX5200 128mb Maxtor 60gb hdd Liteon 12x dvdrw Qtec hsf & exhaust Coolermaster&Aerocool case fans

Reply: (edit) in theory it will be slower but you will probably hardly notice the difference. 8x is in theory twice as fast as 4x but in reality there does not seem to be much in it.

Reply: (edit)The AGP 8x/4x is just the transfer rate of data through the AGP memory window. A system memory/bus transfer to the video adapters extra memory where commands and data are stored. It does not effect the speed at which the graphics accelerator processor can build and display updates for the screen, unless it is having to wait on data to come in from the system memory. So any differences would depend on what the graphics program was doing. If the adapter has enough memory to load everything it needs for most operations, then the speed of this bus is not important once that data is loaded into the card.
