Hi All, I'm having a real problem understanding this agp thing. I've searched this site and I'm still confused. I have a K7S5A mobo with an agp 4x slot. I would like to buy a new video card but I'm not sure what fits. The cards I'm interested in (GeForce FX 5600 and Radeon 9600 Pro) both have what looks like a little foot on the connection what I guess is AGP 8x or AGP Pro. Would one of these cards fit in my mobo? If so, does the foot stick out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. woco

That link explains installing an AGP into an AGP Pro slot. I want to know if it's possible to install a Pro card into a normal AGP slot.

I don't know if it will help, but there's quite a bit of AGP info here:

I appreciate all the help but I'm feeling a little stupid about my question. I decided to look inside my comp. and as soon as I did I immediately remembered what that "foot" was for (locking lever). It's been awhile since I installed my card and it's something I don't do everyday. The pictures I saw on ebay of the cards struck me as odd and the more I researched the more confused I got. Anyway I decided to do the right thing and check my mobo hand book. It told me exactly what I needed to know. Thanks guys, woco

First of all get the radeon 9600.. It is so much nicer than the g-force. Second a 8x video card normaly runs at 1.5v so does a 4x. That little foot can stick out. you can use any 8x video card on the 4x mobo. it will just match the speed that the mobo supports. Get the radeon get games have fun...email me with any other questions.
