Agp 4x ?

I want to install a better video card into my sons computer. The motherboard is msi 845EMAX S478 with 4X AGP slot and P4 2.0GHZ CPU. Currently I'm using a geforce MX440 and it sucks. I would like to purchase and install a Radeon 9600XT. The Radeon is 8X. Will this work on my current motherboard? I do not want to get a new motherboard as I would then need to purchase a new processor and new ram. I'm too poor for that.

That is alot of card for that system but running at 4x it should be ok and not cause problems make sure you have the latest drivers Get Firefox
