Hi,
I want to update my asus board's BIOS... The manual says i have to do this with a floppy under DOS mode.. So i grabbed a few floppys and put one in.. formatted it, and made a boot disk...
Now the problem is; after i made the boot disk, there is not enough space left for my BIOS!
I did exactly what the manual said, "put a High Density floppy in your 3,5 drive, format, make a bootdisk.. and then you should have atleast 1024MB left for the bios.rom"... well after i make a bootdisk i only have 868 kB left... if i try to copy the bios, it will give me an error saying the disk is full.... I also tried 3 other floppy's but they're all the same..

You can delete everything on the floppy disk except command.com. io.sys and msdos.sys. That should give you enough room for the BIOS code and still retain a bootable floppy disk.

Can you put the BIOS file on a second floppy and insert it after you launch the BIOS flash utility?

It doesn't need to be an XP bootdisk. You can use a 9X disk or even earlier msdos. As StuartS says, it should just have the system files--io.sys, msdos.sys and command.com--on it plus the flasher and the upgrade file.
