My goal is too build it and install the O.S. without any issues. lofty goal but one can only hope for the best. Can anyone find any reason why this build would not work? My transplant is Sony AW-Q170A 18X DVD Burner. Later I will replace it with Blueray burner. My 2 cents: 1. choose another board. Look for a board that uses the SB710 or SB750 southbridge, not the older SB700. Here's one example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... 2. good CPU but it's overkill considering the intended purpose of the system. 3. why would you spend $70+ (+ shipping) for RAM with a CAS latency of 7 when you can get better/faster RAM with a CAS latency of 5 for just $55 w/free shipping? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... 4. do you really want a cramped mini-tower with limited drive bays, poor cooling characteristics & a questionable PSU? I believe I recommended the following Antec case in another thread...it supports both mATX & standard ATX boards, has more drive bays, better cooling, a better PSU & it's cheaper: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ... 5. OK 6. whatever floats your boat. 7. no comment.

Thanks! that mobo has what I need. Just trying to work around a few parameters. looking for HDMI, SPDIF OPTICAL, DTS. The mobo you showed me has codecs ALC888H-GR features Dolby® Home Theater(software feature) perfect. How fast of a processor do I need to fulfill my requirements. I may be watching atsc tuner and video editing at the same time if possible. I'll start matching up ram for that mobo. really appreciate your help! this is lookig good and cheaper.
