Specs: Windows XP, 2
I recently purchased a hd 5570 for my HTPC that i have been putting together. My mother board is an intel 915GAG. 450W power supply and blu ray read only Windows XP fresh install.

My problem is this... with the video card in place the computer will not boot up. I shut it down and remove the hd5570 and it boots up fine and works great! So i installed the drivers from the cd and gave it another shot and then repeated several times..... *SIGH* now my head hurts and i am not very happy. I went into the Bios and enabled the pcie slot and still nothing... Any ideas?

Some new ATI cards seem to have problems with older PCIe 1.0A motherboards. They work fine with PCIe 1.1 and 2.0 motherboards.

For example, I have a Radeon HD 5750 that works great in my HTPC but doesn't work at all with my NF4 SLI (PCIe 1.0A) board. My brand new Nvidia GTX 460 card works just fine on the NF4 board.

The only thing I can suggest is to update your BIOS to the latest version. If that doesn't work, try an nVidia card.
