Hi, I have a weird problem with my PC

When I switch it on (Windows 7) all the aero effects are disabled and my games won't run properly (L4D for example).
The thing is that when I restart the system everything works just fine. I've noticed that there are differences in the services which are running after I reboot. I've reinstalled windows and the problem persists.
Here are mi specs:
ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 - AMD FX 6300
8GB Kingston HyperX RAM
1TB Toshiba HDD
XFX Radeon HD6670

The differences are in these services:

Application Experience Started Manual
Background Intelligent Transfer Service Started Automatic (Delayed Start)
Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X64 Started Automatic (Delayed Start)
Microsoft .NET Framework NGEN v4.0.30319_X86 Started Automatic (Delayed Start)
Security Center Started Automatic (Delayed Start)
Software Protection Started Automatic (Delayed Start)
Windows Defender Started Automatic (Delayed Start)

By the way, I've updated all of the system's divers and even the BIOS. I'm running a clean install now with only firefox on it.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

So your saying that you switch aero on, reboot and its off? Or when you enable it and reboot, its still on and then goes off? Or that when you shutdown and turn it on, aero is off, but if you enable aero and reboot, it stays on and turns off with shutdowns? Can you clarify a bit?

"XFX Radeon HD6670" is not an old VGA. Have you installed the latest available AMD Catayst drivers? I'm guessing you have Win7 64-bit:

Have you installed SP1 & all the other Windows Updates?

Sorry, you switch it on, no aero. Reboot, it "magically" works. Same cycle over and over

There are things that start with your PC that can conflict with Aero. Have you recently installed anything new? Any updates to current applications like Quicktime? What are all the programs in startup?

Thanks for the replies. So far no luck though. The thing that puzzles me is that my video card was running perfectly on my previous machine also with Win7. All the other hardware is new and I don't think the card is incompatible with the motherboard or something of the sort.
I reinstalled windows, and I'm running the very latest version of the AMD drivers, still I can only get proper video performance after I reboot the PC...
