I just picked up a celeron D 2.53GHz for cheap. The processor works with my current motherboard which has a P4 1.8GHz in it. I have another motherboard and case so I want to sell one of them.

Mainly, I watch videos on my comp and download stuff. I occasionally will convert audio and videos to different formats. I also run a small web server and ftp. I don't play too many games. Just the occasional Unreal. Should I keep the P4 or go with the Celeron D? Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks.

if they both fit current motherboard then you can run some benchmark tests to compare them, or just time certain things yourself with a watch, like converting audio, doing the same file on each processor.

Go with the (325) Celeron D.
