Is it possible for an extension telephone to interfere with the ADSL signal causing error 0680 'There was no dial tone'This can occur on booting and can also occur when on line (dropping the connection). The ext phone is NOT in use at the time, and as it is never used when on line it is NOT fitted with a filter.Just the fact, being there, without a filter could that cause this intermittent problem. The extension is directly connected to the entry line box as is the main phone line. The problem occurs with both computers (each has own Modem)(Both not being used at the same time).
As it is is an intermittent problem,(and only occured over the past few weeks, with no change in any equipment) could there be a technical explanation for the problem.
If the problem is the extension and with the phone Removed is it also necessary to fit a filter.

If you disconnect the extension phone, you don't need a filter. As long as it's active and connected, you need a filter. Hope this helps.....

It makes them think you're up to something...

Yes you need a filter on evry phone on that line ,
I went through this same issue not to long ago here and forgot about my phone out in the garage and could not connect and took me two days to finally figure it out .Soon as I filtered that phone I was able to connect
" Please Post back to let us know if we helped "

Have removed phone from extension. Nothing at all is connected.
Will see now what transpires.
Cannot really understand where the problem came from as explained prior 'nothing was changed'.
Thanks for your replies.
