I have been trying to install a PCI video card onto a HP Pavillion 4410. The PC already has an onboard SiS video card.

AFAIK the BIOS doesnt say anything about selecting another card, but when I install the card and boot the computer beeps three times and won't turn on the monitor whatever card (onboard or pci) I plug it into.

Anyone help please?

Your onboard video is PCI based. It should be possible to run the onboard and an add-in card. Although I am not sure about that. What I suspect is happening is this. Your onboard PCI video shares resources with one of your PCI slots. If that is the slot that you are using for the add in card you will have resource conflicts. First look in your BIOS for options for the onboard video. Such as enable/disable or first display. Next try moving the add-in card to another slot and see if you can install it. If not, then disable the onboard and install the add-in and after its up and running try enabling the aoboard again. There is a feature in windows that allows control of multiple displays. Read about it in your help files to learn haw to use both displays. Also the documentation for your computer should tell you if you can do what you want to do. Check the HP site.

You may have to disable the onboard video via the jumpers on the mobo
