hi frndss...
my system is of 256mb ddr RAM and now i want to add another 256mb RAM to my motherboard.After inserting it into the slot,will my OS(windows98 & windows XP) automatically detect and add up extra memory?? or Do i have to do anything manually??

you do not need to do anything to settings etc- providing it is right sort of ram - just put it in the slot (with computer turned off) - switch on and its all done.

i'm with Cliff, but like to add something. Check your motherboard manual to make sure which RAM (speed) to buy. You don't want to end up with an incompatible module.
