Comment:

I just bought a new hard drive and I am wondering how I would be able to transfer my data from the old hard drive to the new one? Would I be able to do this with only my computer or would I have to actually take it in to a shop?I dont have a Raid slot and using cdrs/dvdrs would be to expensive.
The hard drive I want to take out of my pc has a pre-installed version of XP Home and I plan on installing XP pro on the new drive.
I have never changed any hard ware before so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Most new drives come with software that allows you to do just what you want to do. If the software didn't come with your drive, go to the drive manufacturer's website and download it. Make sure you get the readme files and/or instructions. These programs work great, if you follow the instructions to the tee.
