Mobo: Soyo Dragon KT333 Platinum Ed.
Current RAM: K-Byte 256MB DDR PC333

I'm only asking this because I've only had this mobo for a few months and I don't know much about it, I don't know why I couldn't do it, but I want to add a single chip of 512MB DDR PC333, will this cause me any problems? I REALLY need the RAM for the things I do, tons of gaming, tons of video editing, and plenty of other things. So can I have both a 256 chip and a 512 chip in at the same time with no problems? Or should I just buy two more 256 chips and put them in the last two slots on my mobo?

Thanks!

The reason I even asked this was because I have another computer with a FIC SD11 mobo, it seems to have MANY issues with adding more RAM even if you have the slots and chips... it just doesn't like new ram that well. I still smashed 768 MB into it, but some RAM testers find problems with it. Don't know if that was the board or not.

Anyways, thanks again...

yes..it will have no problems if you add 512 pc2700 DDR ram. but all you need to do is put it in the first bank and 256mb on the second one.
it should be ok.
