Well when I reformatted my computer I ended up making 2 partitions. I realized how usless the second one was so I deleted it. How can I now add the free space to my C drive?

Why was the second partition useless? Once the software and operating system is set up it would use the second partition or any others automatically. I have 5 partitions on my laptop (12 GB) and as many as 15 on my desktop . To answer your question a partition manager can expand the present drive to use the whole disk.

Yes, it's an excellent plan to have more than one partition.

I agree, you should have at least 2 paritions. One could serve for backup purposes.
But if you insist on one partiton, you can add to C using a third party program such as BOOTitNG. (ggogle for it)

I did not get the impression that BOOTit NG will expand / enlarge an existing partition.
