I've got one DVD-RW drive, and three Seagate 200GB Hard Drives. One is for Windows and Files, and two are for video storage. All Hard Drives are identical models.

I'd like to add another Seagate 200GB for video storage (I hoard anime), but all my IDE slots are now taken up. What are my options?

If you have a PCI slot, you can add an ide controller there (and get 4 more spots).

If your motherboard has SATA or RAID ports, you can add to those as well (my mobo has support for 10 hard drives....2 from SATA, 4 from RAID, and 4 on regular IDE)

You can also use an external enclosure, and just use the usb or firewire port.

the pci slot one would be the easiest though, but your case would need to have space for the new hard drive.

Hi,

PCI ATA control card is the way to get four further IDE devices, ie hard disks.

You will need to check that

1) Your Power Supply can handle all these extra devices

2) Your case fans can keep it all cool.

Will you have enough physical space for all this extra hardware

Have you thought about using a hard disk caddy carrier and additional hard disks in separate caddies in a 5ΒΌ" drive bay. You can then cold swap out hard disks to your hearts content.

Hard disk caddies are normally rated for drive rotational speed and are not hot swappable.

Rather than getting a controller card, a bigger PSU, & adding more cooling fans, why not go with an external HDD? or start backing up your videos on DVDs?

If you have used up all the 3.5" (IDE) slots you can install a hard drive in a 5 1/4" slot with inexpensive brackets.
