I just bought an LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1400x1050. My display properties will only allow me to set a max resolution of 1280x800, which doesn't give me the sharpest image. Is there any way I can add 1400x1050 to my display properties? ATI All-In Wonder 128 Pro AGP

The specs show:

Maximum 3D resolutions
65K Colors 1920x1440
16.7M colors 1920x1200

Your video card most likely predates widescreen monitors. Two things to do:

First, in the window where you change resolution, see if there is an Advanced button. If there is, you may find a tab that says "Adapter" and another button that may say "List All Modes." See if your resolution is listed.

If not, possibly there is a new driver for your video card that adds widescreen support.

ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon X2 4800+
2GB RAM, X1900GT
2x37GB WD Raptors, RAID 1
1x250GB WD Storage

Thanks.
This isn't widescreen. It is an Acer AL2017BMD 20" monitor, replacing my wonderful Sony 19" CRT which died via carbonized cockroach. "Display properties" would offer me up to 1920x1440 with that monitor, but will only offer me up to 1280x800 with the new one. I don't recall ever having 1400x1050 as an option, even with the Sony.

The above suggestions are valid. Did you install the drivers that came with your LCD display?

One thing to add to the above. There may not be a driver available to run that resolution when using WinME. I have a 20" Samsung widescreen LCD and dual boot Win98/2000. I am running an built by ATI 9600 AIW card. Under 98 there is no option to run the native resolution of the display using the latest Catalyst drivers written for 98. Using the latest Catalyst drivers written for 2000 I can.

No drivers came with the display. I can't find updated drivers for the 128PRO on the ATI website for any operating system. I am limited to ME, as the one program I MUST have won't run in XP, even with compatibility mode. HELP! I don't want to replace an operating video card with a newer one just because it is no longer supported! I am still using a Celeron 766 for that reason... with 700 gigs of hard drive, it does what I need it to do. So why change? I get the feeling, though, that I might have to just live with my current settings...

You need to face the fact that the times are a'changing & the ATI All-In Wonder 128 Pro AGP is outdated. The last 98/ME driver available from ATI for that card is version 4.13.7192 dated Oct. 22, 2001.

The Acer site only has a driver for WinXP:
